As Part of the Dutch Presidency Open Science Conference next week, FutureTDM will be taking part in one of four coveted ‘Open Science Cafes’. We will be holding this event alongside three other exciting projects, FOSTER, Pasteur4OA and LEARN.

An excellent forum for debate

The Netherlands, who are steering the helm of the EU Presidency for these first six months of 2016 are “committed to open access to scientific publications and the best possible re-use of research data, and would like to accelerate the transition this requires.” As such, the Open Science Conference will focus strongly on collaboration, innovation and involving new users of scientific information. There will be no shortage of ideas and expertise. Attendees are expected to include policy makers and shapers, researchers, publishers, members of the scholarly community and organisations and companies that support research. FutureTDM is very much looking forward to meeting with and hearing from the conference delegates.

Talking big data analytics

Our FutureTDM Open Science Café on 5 April will give participants an informal setting to share their thoughts and experiences on text and data mining and discuss pertinent issues that the project covers. These will be provided in the form of playing cards! Importantly the café also gives an opportunity for further explanation of FutureTDM and the important role that stakeholder engagement plays in this project.

A highly popular conference, registration is now full but we will be reporting back from the event on our twitter feed and blog page.
