Regression analysis is a statistical technique for estimating the relationships among variables. There are many techniques for modeling and analysing various variables, when the focus is on the relationship dependent and independent variables. Regression analysis is used in order to identify the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables. In other words, it examines the relationship that exists between two variables, x and y, in cases where each particular value of x is paired with one particular value of y. Even if regression analysis shares some features with correlation analysis, what differes these two processes is that regression analysis examines the existence and extent of relationships between variables, whereas correlation analysis determines the strength of these relationships.
